• Opens in Subang Jaya’s iconic Egypt-themed shopping mall
• Introduces store-exclusive menu items, including Avocado Burger and Cleopatra’s Dream desserts

SPC Group opened the second Shake Shack location in Malaysia, “Sunway Pyramid,” on the 19th. 

This follows the opening of the first store, “The Exchange TRX,” in Kuala Lumpur in April. The second location is situated in Subang Jaya, a metropolitan city near Kuala Lumpur, at the Sunway Pyramid shopping mall, a local landmark.

Shake Shack has incorporated Egyptian-themed elements into the interior design to reflect the concept of the Sunway Pyramid Mall, which features pyramids and sphinxes. The store also showcases curved ceiling designs to represent the flow of the Nile River. The exterior wall features a mural created by renowned Malaysian artist Jaemy C, who modernized traditional Malaysian elements such as the Wau (traditional kite) and the national flower, Bunga Raya (hibiscus).

The Sunway Pyramid location offers store-exclusive menu items such as the Avocado Burger and Avocado Chicken Burger. It also features ice cream desserts like Cleopatra’s Dream and The Golden Rule, which are made with local Malaysian ingredients such as pistachios, passion fruit, and mango.

In addition, the store offers the Shack Attack, an ice cream dessert developed in collaboration with local chocolate company Chocolate Concierge. Five percent of Shack Attack sales proceeds will be donated to the local charity Yayasan Generasi Gemilang.

An SPC Group representative stated, “Following successful operations in Korea and Singapore, Shake Shack has established a strong presence in Malaysia, solidifying its position in the local market. SPC Group will continue to diversify its global business and steadily expand its influence in overseas markets.”

In 2022, SPC Group secured the rights to operate Shake Shack in Malaysia through an agreement with Shake Shack Enterprises in the United States. The company currently operates 10 Shake Shack locations in Singapore.
