Paris Baguette, the bakery brand of SPC Group (Chairman Hur Young-in), announced that it opened its 500th global store on October 22.

Since the end of last month, Paris Baguette has opened stores in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey in the U.S., Toronto in Canada, and Shanghai, Beijing, and Xi'an in China, totaling 50 outlets this year and achieving its 500th global store.

Paris Baguette’s 500th global branch is the ‘T2 Landside branch’, which opened at Terminal 2 of Singapore Changi Airport. The 500th shop in Singapore is more significant since it will serve as an outpost for entering the Middle East and Halal markets, which are strategically important regions for Paris Baguette's global business.

The launch of Paris Baguette's 500th global shop is anchored in Chairman Hur Young-in's strong resolve and consistent investment to expand into a global brand beyond Korea.

Furthermore, it is analyzed that business strategies, such as ‘upscale’ of quality based on superior technology to captivate the tastes of Europe and the United States, the home of bread, ‘differentiation’ through Paris Baguette’s unique ‘bakery cafe’ concept and strategic products such as sandwiches and whipped cream cakes, and 'localization', which adjusts the entry approaches, such as direct entry, joint venture, and master franchise, by considering regional characteristics, have greatly contributed to success.

Baguette is set to launch 50 more overseas branches by the end of the year, further accelerating its efforts for global expansion.

Paris Baguette plans to steadily expand its franchise business in the U.S. and China, as well as target the Muslim market with around 1.9 billion population, which accounts for 24% of the world's population, by constructing the ‘Johor Bahru Factory’, a halal-certified product production base, in Malaysia. Additionally, the brand plans to aggressively test its franchise business model for Europe in the UK market and expand into other European countries.

Hur Jin-soo, President of SPC Group, said, “We have opened our 500th store by outcompeting with global brands in overseas markets thanks to consistent investment and efforts in our global business that began in 2004. Paris Baguette will continue to grow into new countries and strengthen its global manufacturing base to actively expand its global business and strive to prove that Korean bakeries are among the best one in the world.”

SPC Group entered the global market in 2004, starting with China, and has steadily expanded its business to 10 countries, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia, with overseas sales over 600 billion won last year.
